This makes me think of a quote by Aristotle.
"What is a friend? It is a single soul dwelling in two bodies."
Though my blog will not be on this quote, I just felt like sharing.
Today we, as a class, shared in an extremely personal moment for everyone. We went up to the acropolis of Rhodes and as usual, looked around and took pictures. The difference in this adventure was that we had some rules. We had to perform in either the stadium or the theater. We had some awesome races, with a few tumbles, and some amazing theatrical performances. But I can tell you that the best performance of them all was made by Dr. Finitsis.
Most of us went down onto the stage so he could teach us a Greek dance and them as we finished up, he started to dance on his own. For a moment in time, all of us were lost in the magic. His soul and his body became one. You could see the joy on his face as he skillfully danced around puddles, twirling and hopping to the beat our hands were messily clapping out, fulfilling our desire to see what true Greek dancing looks like. I am convinced that in order to be a true Greek dancer you need both the body and the soul. This moment is something all of us wish we could have caught on video, but at the same time I'm glad I don't have it. The images are in my brain and I can remember the emotions. It was a special moment, a precious gift, just for us to enjoy. No one else.
Thanks Dr. Finistsis! You have some mad skills :)
