Free Day

What an adventure, but also sad to see what i saw. Yesterday on my free day i ventured to the north end of Athens to view the Olympic stadium from the 2004 Summer Olympics. After figuring out the Metro, i was filled with excitement to see this place of world competition. I don't know exactly what i was looking for, but it was what of found. When we arrived, the entire complex was completely abandoned. Building look like they had been gathering rust and dirt since the Olympics ended, and entire sections were closed off. It was such a disappointment to see an entire Olympic complex, once were the best athletes in the world competed, completely gone to waste. I feel as though Athens could some how benefit from using this facility for other sporting attractions, or even make it accessible to the public. Either way i was very discouraged to see this ginormous place gone to waste.
On a better note, i believe a few of us are going to try and go see a Greek soccer game. Really looking forward to that. They say European soccer is absolutely NUTS!!! More to come on the upcoming events soon.
