It's All Fun and Games Until You're the One Getting an Orange

This morning started off with one of the most beautiful sunrises.  It had all of my favorite colors.  The blues, pinks, and purples.  I much prefer those to the oranges and the reds, but that’s just because I’m a soft palette kind of person.  I went downstairs quite early, when the lobby was still quiet and did work until breakfast and then we left for Lindos.

It was so beautiful in Lindos.  It is the stereotypical, picturesque kind of Greece everyone thinks of.  Our day was quite overcast, but imagining it in the sun, you can tell that it is such a wonderful place to be.  Yeah, the heat may get to you a bit, but that’s why they have the pebble streets and flooring.  I just couldn’t see the heat over powering the beauty and culture enough to make me want to leave or dislike it.  The city just seems like it would be so wonderful.
The top of the acropolis is, of course, where we spent the most time.  As you've learned, our class loves just basking in the glorious views Greece has to offer.  The bay that you see is called St. Paul's Bay.  We had a lovely view of it from the acropolis (where the picture was taken).  If you read in Acts 21:1, you'll see that it talks about setting sail and heading to Rhodes.  It is only mentioned in one verse, but it is there nonetheless.  It is said that this is where Paul stopped, which is why the bay is named after him.  There is also a small chapel down there, named after him as well, but we did not head down that way so we did not get to see it.  .

While Lindos was wonderful and amazing, the best part of my night happened at dinner.  Our table played an awesome prank on the table next to us.  It was absolutely fabulous!  I'd really like to tell you the whole story but I know that it just wouldn't translate over the internet.  So here's the quick version.  It had to do with ordering desserts, oranges, and the fact that our server Anestes is absolutely fantastic.  He is a beast.  Without him, we could not have carried out the prank.  Not only because he was the one doing all the work, but because he is the only one who did not burst out in laughter.  There have been many times on this trip where we have laughed to the point of almost crying, but I honestly think this time was the best.  It was such a wonderful way to end our last 5 course dinner.
