The Greek god Zeus was said to have let two eagles fly until they met, and the point was supposed to be the center of the earth; Delphi. We visited Delphi today and toured around the main central area where the Temple of Apollo and the Stadium are as well as the ruins and remains that lay down the road. The site was not found in the state that it was in; most of it was reconstructed due to thousands of years of earthquakes and weathering. What you see in many cases is scientists rendition of where pieces go from ancient literature and history. Knowing this still doesn't take anything away from it in my point of view. We were standing at what we know as one of the most important places in the history of the western world and culture. One of the most holy of holies in polytheism and the ancient Greek culture in general. Seeing that this place was found from practically nothing it makes you wonder... what else is out there that we have not yet discovered. The whole mountainside could be and most likely is littered with the ruins from the ancient times. The question is not if, but it is a matter of when and what will be found. There could be a thousand more Delphis that we don't know about that are just waiting to be found.
