Let's do the time warp again!

So I'm not entirely sure how to sum up what we saw and expierenced today. There are no words powerful enough for anyone to comprehend the importance and beauty of what we saw today. We took a long drive outside the city of Athens up into the mountains to Delphi. First we drove through a town that had once been competely eliminated by Nazi forces in the second world war; pretty powerful to drive through the same streets and see the town rebuilt and fighting for compensation for their pain and suffering. Next we made a surprise stop at a beautiful monestery. The views were breathtaking, the church over one thousand years old and the architecture amazing! It is so difficult to describe the beauty and peace we found in this place, words and pictures do not do it justice. After this stop we finally made it to Delphi where we went back in time 3,000 years. There is nothing that can compare to the treasuries, temples and stadiums. The air was fresh and the atmosphere peaceful. Stopping near the top of the grounds I stood looking out at the great view before me thinking how incredibly lucky am I to be here experiencing this right now. Definitely the most beautiful thing I have seen in my life. After soaking it all in we raced back down the mountain to tour the museum before it closed. Again, more amazing pieces found in the area: sculptures, weapons, jewelry, the museum was just as spectacular as the outdoor ruins. After being rushed out the door right at closing time we headed back into a small skiing village we had passed on the way in. The rustic decor of a local restaurant and family-style dinner were the perfect end to an incredible day. One that still doesn't quite seem real.
