Like cats and dogs

I hail from Washington the rainy state, but tonight I found Greece holds nothing back. Throughout the day Athens experienced the normal rainy day, which reminded some of us of home, but that changed by night. Our class outing was to walk to the top of the Lycabettus hill for the great views of the city and Acropolis. It was definately beautiful and advantageous for taking in all of Athens. Walking to the top was a mini workout but literally seeing how big the city was all around you was worth it. So this brings us back to the rain. After hanging around the hill and cafe for a while, we headed back which for some of us meant walking. It was a wonderful on the way down showing where we live, and have been, and the place we want to see. After about five minutes however started the downpour. Of course Allison and I have no umbrella and we laugh at how it changed from bearable to not one thing were wearing is dry. It reminded me alot of instantaneous downpours in Panama. Crossing the streets on the hill one would have to jump small rivers and hope for the best, and finally as we bear all the curious stares from locals wondering why we are out in this rain, and with no umbrella we get to the home stretch, and as I unlocked to door to my apartment lightening and thunder hit. Trust me I am not complaining here, I enjoyed the trek back as it is just another part of the adventure here and will remember it fondly as the night Greece showed us everything its got.
