For me one thing that I would love to bring back home and have adapted is the sense of leisure. I feel like back in the U.S. we are a very time oriented culture, where time is money and it is not to be wasted. These sentiments tend to create a hurried and rushed atmosphere. In the past few days here Greece has show a more leisure like atmosphere; several activities (and yes this includes the overly mentioned coffee) are not about how fast one can get through things to move onto the next but more about making a particular point of taking time. Traffic is still fast and things still get done in Greece, but the stressful hurriedness of the American life seems to be left behind, and I think this is something that at least myself if not everyone could benefit from. Taking a breath and enjoying what it is that we are trying to get done in a day.
What I would oppose coming back home to would be the traffic, though it is not terrible here I do not want to have this type of traffic back where I live. It can be fun to experience it now as something different and new, but I feel pedestrians would not fair as well back in the states. I don't even think our automobile drivers could handle the weaving motorcyclists.
