Quaint and charming. This is how I feel about most places we have seen so far. Buildings with a romantic old-world charm, realxing atmospheres and most of all gracious and welcoming people. Each cafe or shop I have been in the people working have been exceedingly kind, gracious and helpful. This hospitality paired with the beautiful architecture make parts of the city feel like a completely different world. It is a very nice change of pace from what I am used to. Yes, people are nice in the states but the people I have come across seem like they genuinely care about you- from the woman I met in a shop who was recommending shoes per what was in style here today and how to enjoy the oppertunity of travel we got to an older gentleman at a shop down the road explaining to us the story of the 'evil eye' and chatting with us and finally presenting us with a small token of the eye as we were leaving his shop. I truly feel welcome.
