The Mediterranean Sea

The cool breeze coming from the northwest, a slight ripple on the water, and a perfect view of the surrounding countries. You'd think the water would be cold, but when you jump in it couldn't be a more perfect. It was cool, but not cold, crisp, but very refreshing, the perfect temperature.
Today i had two opportunities to swim in the Mediterranean, and i took them both. First was on the more eastern side of the island, just north of the village of Lindos. We were actually at a summer resort and found the perfect place to swim. Five of us took the plunge and we all loved every minute of it. The water was perfect and it was the perfect i needed. Only an hour or so later, i get knock on my door. It's my classmate Eric Gross, one of the students  who has gone in every chance he is given. He say's "where going to the platform, you in...?" (The platform is is this large set of steps out in the middle of the small bay we are in. It's about a 5 to 10 minute swim out, if you hit the currents right.) How could i pass this opportunity off. Everytime we had gone swimming in front of the hotel, storms had been rolling in and no one had had the ball yet to jump off the platform. And with the weather we having i had to go. When we finally made it out there, you couldn't have asked for a more perfect view of the surrounding landscape. Eric and i both jumped three times from the top platform at about 15 to 20 yards to the water. It was a most invigorating experience. All in all, the swimming today was phenomenal and i am so glad went out to the platform and conquered it!
