Sunset

As stereotypical as this may sound, this is how I pictured Greece. Today, I dipped my toes into the Mediterranean sea. I stood on the beach, breathing in the fresh seaside air. Getting off of the tram and witnessing a beautiful sunset with some wonderful friends was one of my favorite moments in this country so far. I sat on a rock near the sea and just spent sometime contemplating and thinking under a sky rapidly turning red. I felt like I was standing in a photograph; I could hardly believe what was before me was real.

Today, on our way back from the museum, we passed a park where children were playing. It was just such a simple and meaningful reminder of how we are all so fundamentally similar. The unexplainable joy that children feel is universal, and just seeing that was a really cool moment.
