Between Parkland & Peghot

Parkland and Peghot.... wow... many similarities and many differences. So far i have been in Greece for a little more than a day and half and it has already been an adventure. One similarity to Parkland that Greece has is its crime rate. When we first reached Greece and where given the tour of the apartment, we were told to always keep our doors locked, and watch out for pick pockets while in the markets. So Greece still has crime like the rest of the world... But i'm not going to let that ruin my trip. As long as we play it safe, i'm not worried.
On a more serious note, the culture, i feel, is far different than in America. For instance there style of food is significantly different. Greece is based on more of their quality of food versus quantity. For lunch today i had these delicious stuffed tomatoes. The size of the meal was particularly small, but it was absolutely marvelous. Something you would only find in a gourmet restaurant in America, not your small little mom and pap cafe. I really think this contributes to more of the "thinner" society in Greece (just from observation). Me, being a bigger, plus size man. I feel as though if i were to eat the diet of the average Greek man. I would not maintain my current size.
Although i have only been here a short time, I'm looking forward to more upcoming adventures with me classmates in Athens.
