Beware of Greeks Bearing Gifts

I have purchased many gifts on this trip (as of yesterday) for various people in my life.  I will not list what those are, as they are surprises ;), but that goes without saying.  But I would have to say the biggest gift on this trip is the gifts I have given myself.  As I sit here in the Athens International Airport waiting to go home, I cannot believe how FAST these weeks have gone.  With my boarding passes and passport in hand, I definitely know I am returning home a new person.  Besides the gift of a change in my life by coming to Greece, my biggest purchase on this trip is something I am currently wearing.  A ring :) no, not a ring from a lovestruck Greek man, not that kind of ring (don't worry mom, I AM coming home!), but just a very beautiful and unique piece of jewlery that I can have to look back on this trip with joy and satisfaction.  It is a long trip home yet, this I know, but I know the satisfaction of getting home from a wonderful trip.  I will no doubt dream about this country, its people and my adventures here for weeks and years to come.  Whenever I look at my ring, from Metlao Design in Athens, I will smile and remember everything.  It will all come flooding back.  The smell of walking through the Plaka and Souvlaki, the way the Acropolis looks at night, the laughter of my classmats and I as we enjoy a good time and much much more.  I could not have asked for more out of this trip.  I will miss Greece, but I know with some degree of certainty that I'll be back.  I feel it in my heart of hearts!
