Children of light and darkness

In today’s world, we are witnesses to everything. Technology is such that we are privy and able to view and experience everything and anything we want. This includes travelling made exceptionally easier than in previous generations. Because of this, it is not uncommon for people to mix natural optimism with tinged sadness and stoicism. The amount of misconceptions, disasters, and problems with the world can lead people to think that we are simply of darkness, where the truth of the matter is we have the ability for positive worldly contributions as well. It is important not to become too cynical by what you see and know that every action you have can contribute by changing the world. Our class here in Athens is changing our perceptions of the world in ways we cannot comprehend, opening our minds to new things while simultaneously throwing away the shroud of mystique a foreign destination has before visiting. It is important that we take what we have learned here and apply it to our actions at home. Our privilege that allows us to be here requires action, for to waste what we have learned would be only to slip into darkness.
