Final Day in Rhodes

Today was filled with great activities and fond memories, however it is bittersweet because this is our last night in Rhodes. It has been great to get away from the busy city of Athens and take our time to enjoy the island life of Rhodes. I finally went swimming outside the hotel, and it was great! It was definately cold getting out and walking back, but totally worth it. The water was so clear, and nothing like any swimming I have done back home. We also visited Lindos today which is where I finally got to see my white Greek houses. The city requires them all to be white because of the heat in that area, and even though it wasn't Santorini it made me smile nonetheless. But my favorite part of today was at dinner, and will not only be a memory that will last, but one to share as well. One of the hotel waiters the group has gotten to know really well as we eat there every night and his name is Enestes. Tonight he helped us pull a little joke on our unsuspecting classmates by bringing them all whole oranges for dessert instead of ice cream. It was great fun but besides the uncontrollable laughter what I think made it so great was realizing how much we have come to know each other over this trip. We have bonded enough to laugh with others and at ourselves, furthermore, we have bonded with the places we have stayed. Though people like Enestes are not in our group, they are a part of our trip and it has been wonderful to get to know even them. I previously wrote how much I had fallen in love with Greece, but I think half of the formula for a great Jterm is the people. I think we have had a great group that has filled the time with good memories and tons of laughter and no matter how much we will all miss Greece, I think we will miss each other as well. At least a little bit........
