I can see Turkey from my house

I am loving Rhodes. I thought I loved my city apartment in Athens, but the balcony here in Rhodes is breathtaking. I could sit out there for hours (still love the apt balcony, though). This afternoon I napped as the ocean waves lulled me to sleep. Truly this is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. Rhodes is a town of roughly 50,000 people and it definitely feels smaller than Athens, and I love that. I grew up in a small town so it’s really comforting to be in a similar environment. I’ve often thought about whether I want to spend my life in the city or a smaller town- both have their benefits and their drawbacks. I love the wide variety of activities and experiences and ideas and people that inhabit the city, but I feel more comfortable in smaller towns. For now I can experience both and we'll see where I land...

Our hotel is also very beautiful. The staff has been nothing but friendly and kind towards us and our room is very nice. The balcony, of course, is my favorite part. No matter where I end up living, city or rural, I would like a lovely balcony like I have experienced here in Greece.
