I can see Turkey from my house

Well, on this trip we've been learning about wisdom in more ways than one... Ben Sira has entered our daily conversations, and I'm told it only gets better with Wisdom of Solomon. Dinner tonight, was full of little bite-size pieces of wisdom, much of it coming out of the mouth of Dr. Finitsis' mother, who we had the pleasure of meeting today. First and foremost, "you are young, you must eat!" Did you know that if you eat good food you will have beautiful babies? Just look at Dr. Finitsis! Other gems to be included in our wisdom book include:
*a smile is your best accessory
*don't question your decisions
*life is short, eat while you're young
*chocolate is always the right choice
*If you are worried about how to go back to your life at home, remember that it's that life that brought you here
*wear tops with zippers when meeting your mother
*If there's a Greek mother present... prepare to eat!

Today we also gained some "international experience"... not only could we see Turkey from the plane, but from our hotel balconies as well! In light of all this learning going on, I thought I would contribute one more piece of wisdom garnered from today's discussion: Guys, it's not about looking cute (although, don't get me wrong, it's a bonus), it's about acting cute (sincerely). Girls back home, I hate to break it to you, but Greek men are not automatically more attractive than men of any other nationality... and the reason we are all in love with "Kostas" from "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" (who isn't actually Greek, sorry...) isn't really because of the way he looks (though, as I said, a bonus), but how he acts... it's the way he interacts with Lena that makes us swoon. Like I said... it's how you act, not how you look. So guys, take a lesson... leave the hair gel (and shiny suits), pack the smile.
