Greece portrays this certain feeling. It is hard to explain until you are there, in the thick of it, looking down at it all taking it all in. From any view in Athens looking down on to the city, you can see it all, and by seeing it all, you can see what Greece is really experiencing. The people, the business, the whole city of Athens is able to smile, be happy, and glad, but it is no secret that their economy is in a free fall downwards. Businesses are closing and the people speak openly about what they are through to you. But the most interesting thing, and one of the things that I love most about Greece and the people so far, is that they do not any of this show on their faces. They are still smiling, happy, and enjoying life. The businesses are happy to see us, but no matter what state their economy was in, I am sure that a restaurant for example, would love to see a group of hungry students ready to try authentic food. Greece, amongst its turmoil and disasters, that we have heard about and seen on the news before we came are present yes, but not is a way that it takes away from any of the vivaciousness and sparkle that still shines from Greece. Athens is a tough city and the people love it, care for it, and only want the best. Looking out, without seeing all of the details of the building and the city itself, you can tell something is going wrong, but the charm and charisma still hold strong, enchanting you with the allure that Greece still carries, and the pride of its people make you certain that this too shall pass, and Greece will be the beauty it once was in the eyes of its people, even though to me know, it is wonderful and beautiful just they way it is.
