People!

Today was, yet again, another amazing experience. We went up to the Acropolis which, other than the slight rain and big gusts of wind, was fantastic. Its unbelievable to think what it was like in it's "glory days:" the stronghold for the city, a fortress, a temple, a beacon.

After the Acropolis and lunch at a great cafe with friendly reminders of home- in the form of the Black Eyed Peas and Backstreet Boys- playing in the background a group of us headed down to the flea market. We discovered lots of great shops and low prices- always a plus! While in one shop, looking at a cute little bracelet for my sister, a woman working there approached me to help. We began talking, she asked where I was from and I told her "the States," she then asked if this was my first time to Greece, to which I replied, "yes. It's so beautiful here!" Her reaction startled me for a minute; she said "awh no I would LOVE to go to the states." It just made me think that no one really appreciates the true beauty of what is around them all the time, myself included.

Today was a really nice day...other than the rain. We saw some amazing views, had a relaxing lunch, bought some great scarves, go cozy finishing the movie in Dr. Finitsis' & Ihssen's appartment and met some really nice locals- which, other than the lady at the Delphi museum, has held true everywhere I've gone.
