(ALL) Happy Holidays from... (Finitsis) People! (ALL) GREECE!!!!! So time for another expose on the day that unfolded. I'm going to just clear this up right now my laundry is now drying. The machines are only open during the week which we were unaware of. The professors machine is questionable but will probably still work if something was holding the door shut. Let me tell everyone something about laundry; I have lived my life in the states all my life with a washing machine. I have been privileged with all of the tools to keep myself looking and smelling clean. I was stressing when I was going to have to hand-wash some items. Now I would say I could do it anytime, and I cleaned all the rest of my clothes that I was going to wait til later to do. I feel more in tune with my clothing now as well as the privilege that we have when we in fact do have a working washing machine. Dryers too because here the dryers are more like an extractor pre dryer. Nature takes care of the drying here; hang it on the rack and let it sit.
Moving on from the appliances I have yet to comprehend that we are already close to halfway done with the program here. I have a tough spring semester ahead of me and I'm not looking forward to it so I am soaking up every minute of it. Besides for the fact of not seeing family and friends I don't want to leave. I love the city of Athens and would thoroughly love it even more if I had a motorcycle to ride around town as well as know more of the language. Overall Athens is a very nice city with its drawbacks just like anywhere else. We are going to the isle of Rhodes shortly, and that is one of my indications that we do not have much more time here. I need to finish up the gift buying shortly (by the way my family is getting spoiled here) and soak up what the city has left to offer. There is so much that we can't experience but if I can do it I'm going to do it this last week in Athens.
