This is SPARTA!

I live on- in stories.
I'm women adorned with scarves.
I'm known for my past.
I'm green and lush and crisp,
I move and grow and pulsate.
I am not just my past;
I am present, and future, too.
I. am. SPARTA.

Today was a really awesome day. I got my laundry back (thank you Dr. Finitsis and CYA staff!!) and spent the day in marvelous SPARTA*imagine loud, deep voice while you raise and pump your fist! You really can't say it in any other voice. After today I know that I need to go back and watch 300 again. I'm looking forward to sharing my photos with my brother and dad as I think today's activities will be the most interesting to them. Mystras was beautiful and a nice way to enjoy a little bit of nature and a little bit of quiet. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to spend time at the monastery and eat the delicious candies they shared with us.

Tomorrow we head to Rhodes, and although I am very excited, I'm sad to leave our apartment. I know it seems ridiculous, but I love this apartment. I guess for a while I have thought about and dreamed of my own European apartment and now, I have it. I cherish my balcony and our windows and small kitchen and very large bathroom. I haven't spent much time in the space at all, but I have loved calling this home for the last two weeks. The wood floors, the gigantic door and gigantic keys to match, the very large marble sink, it's all perfect. But, life goes on and our program moves to Rhodes.

So cheers to you, Athens and apartment balcony, it's been a great few weeks!
