My Moment in Greece

To pick one moment from my time in Greece that I would say was key to my experience is almost impossible. I feel like everyday there was at least one thing that happened that changed my perspective on something or made the trip even more worthwhile.

Right now one of those experiences that comes to mind happened while we were in Delphi. We had hiked up through the ruins, up the side of a mountain, I was exhausted but I stopped nearly at the top overlooking the theater and the valley below. The views were absolutely incredible, like nothing I had seen before. The view went on for miles and miles, the air was crisp and it was completely silent. I think it was at this moment, so peaceful, that I was truly able to appreciate where I was. I just stood there looking out onto the ruins below and the sweeping views thinking "is this real?" "Am I really here right now?" I felt so lucky to be there. I would say that Delphi was key to my time in Greece because it allowed me to experience the history of the area first hand and really feel it; even though everything was in pieces the place came alive. The place was so foreign to me adn that's why I think it had the greatest impact; there wasn't anything there that I could relate to my everyday life here in the states. It was moving and pushed me to do something that I'd never done before. After this trip I think I was able to appreciate everything more.

I think that Delphi represents the experiences I had everywhere we went times five. Each place we visited I learned soemthing new, was amazed at the history behind it and enjoyed the scenery. Delphi provided this and so much more.
