THIS IS SPARTA!

A long bus ride and a great nap was how we started off the day. Today we mixed a little bit of pop culture with history. We stood on the walls of Mistras and were able to look down on what is current day Sparta. Once we were done exploring the monastery we drove though Sparta and decided to have a local meal and some gelato. As we were walking around town, I was keeping my eyes open to hopefully get a glimpse of the pit of despair.  No such luck. But I did find a really cool statue and heard the locals yell “THIS IS SPARTA” at our group. After a reenactment of the Sparta kick, and feeling like I just ate too much gelato, we loaded the bus to head home. I can’t believe that we are going to be in Rhodes tomorrow.
